The aim was to develop comprehensive haematology services for patients with the entire range of haematological diseases.
In-service training in clinical aspects of hameatology started from the time the department started functioning in late 1980s.
Research activities form an integral part of the work in the department which includes basic science, clinical and sponsored clinical trials.
